Getting started with Netbooks
For the last three weeks being in a digital class, room 16 students have been using new electronic technology machines called netbooks. Netbooks are like mini laptops and they practically, exactly do the same thing as a laptop. We can only use Netbooks at School (Dannevirke South). We use netbooks for things like homework, games that are to do with learning and class work but we also do work in our books. We can do work at home on the computer/laptop if we need to finish of anything. Lately on netbooks we have been going on google apps. Room 16 have been trying our best to be self-directed learners.
We have been using netbooks to raise our achievements towards learning as well as doing our learning on the internet. Using netbooks is a good thing because if we want to have jobs that are to do with computers, then we will know how to probably do most things ready for the future at anytime, anywhere and anyplace.
On the first day that we started using netbooks, we started of by loging on to the netbooks, using a username and password, but only on the old netbooks. There were two different types of netbooks, old HP Mini netbooks and New HP Mini Netbooks. Then the next two weeks, there also came a new netbook called Acer, but that was later on. Back to the first day, Mrs McNeil gave us instuctions and took us through the basic steps like, going on to websites that are to do with games, using a username and a password. The websites that we went on, were sites to do with learning skills.
When I think about it I am overwhelmed about the endless possibilities that my netbook has to offer. It gets me motivated to do my work. I do get frustrated at times when I try to log on and my other classmates are ahead of me a bit, but with a bit of patient, I get there in the end.
