My Onomatopoeia Poem
At the park I like to hear....
The cracking of the see saw jumping up and down
The swish, swash of the swing moving forward and back
The squeak of the slide as you head down
The slippery pole as you go straight down to the ground
The stomping feet on the steps
The rubbing on the monkey bars
And finally the joyful, laughter and yelling children!

Block A Evacuation
On the 7th of September which was two weeks ago at Dannevirke South School, block A was evacuated. I walked into the school and seen that there is caution tape in the area that is now out of bounds. It is unsafe to be around this area because if there is an earthquake or something similar the roof may fall.

Dairy
Day 1
Yah today is the big day because Room 16, Parents and Mrs McNeil are going on camp to Camp Raukawa (Whanganui)! Everyone boarded the bus ready for the trip. The trip I think was about 3 or 4 hours but we made a pause at Kowhai Park in Whanganui and had Morning Tea. Off we go again broom broom and finally we are in Camp Raukawa.

DARE to make choices
!DARE TO MAKE CHOICES! 13/06/2012
DARE stands for.......
Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program.
Today, Constable Kendrick came into Room 16 and we learnt about some non-drug strategies.
For Example: I said,
“Hey Lauren, I’ve got a really bad headache and i was wondering is you have any suggestions, so that I can get better?” and Lauren replied,
“Uhmm, yeah actually I do, why don’t you just have a drink of water and get some fresh air.”

Kahurangi Dance
Friday 9th March, the kahurangi dance people came to Dannevirke South School. Then they performed in our school hall.
The performance was about the traditions of different islands and country’s. The people that performed were four gentle men and two ladies. The man who started of the show was a man name Lucky. Then three other gentle men came and they were talking about the drums and other instruments from Tahiti!
What I thought about the Kahurangi dance was a good experience, learning about the different cultures and how they done it.

Getting started with netbooks
Getting started with Netbooks
For the last three weeks being in a digital class, room 16 students have been using new electronic technology machines called netbooks. Netbooks are like mini laptops and they practically, exactly do the same thing as a laptop. We can only use Netbooks at School (Dannevirke South). We use netbooks for things like homework, games that are to do with learning and class work but we also do work in our books. We can do work at home on the computer/laptop if we need to finish of anything. Lately on netbooks we have been going on google apps. Room 16 have been trying our best to be self-directed learners.
